Roller Disco

A hot new warehouse venue has just released tickets for 2 days of skate heaven, turning the giant concrete bunker into a dazzling roller rink on the 5th and 6th of July.

Take your pick from learn to skate classes, roller dance classes, themed rink sessions, and roller discos. There’s something for everyone: kids, families and adults, new skaters to advanced skate dancers.

Expect a candy bar, great music and disco lights, comfy seating, warm drinks and good old retro vibes. Roller discos will feature live DJs spinning classic hits for that extra dose of nostalgia, and all the contemporary tunes will be laid down for the young ones.

Each session will be hosted by highly skilled RollerFit instructors and Roller Promotions performers to teach you how to skate and show off their skills.

The Data Set

‘The Dataset’ is a bold new contemporary dance work by Canberra’s award-winning Australian Dance Party.

A dance between two bodies, light, sound, and AI, The Dataset imagines a world where we physicalise the data that forms us and interrogate its purpose and power. What happens when the system rules us? What happens when the system is broken? ‘The Dataset’ highlights our adaptability as humans in the face of adversity.

Tjaabi by Big hART

Ten years in the making in the Pilbara, Tjaabi–Flood Country captures the urgencies of the 21st Century as the globe warms and the climate changes.

Patrick captures the many cultural and ecological pressures facing Aboriginal people in places like the Pilbara in the face of ever-increasing pressures for new minerals, rare earth, and more ore. He does so through breathtaking music, profoundly personal narrative, and humour that cuts to the bone.

Importantly, this work is an intercultural sharing, a collaboration between many, reflecting a hopeful future of cultural exchange and dialogue, with Patrick’s story at the centre.

This immersive theatre work, using music, spoken word, animation, and tjaabi, tells the story of growing up in the Pilbara, the lineage of cultural knowledge, the contemporary relevance of indigenous ecologies, working on country, the resource sector, and the power of Ngarluma language in capturing cultural knowledges and lived experience.

Skate of Mind by Big hART

Big hART's Skate of Mind is taking up residence at The Vault Dairy Road, developing a cross-medium exploration of image, sound and movement created through live skateboarding.

Skate of Mind takes Australia’s best skateboarders to regional and remote communities around Australia, generating unique environmental content and celebrating the positive mental health benefits of skateboarding for individuals and communities.

Young people are invited to skate The Vault and explore the nexus between skateboarding, animated image, music and environmentally threatened locations.

Pop-up events will engage young people across Canberra skateparks and other locations, plus a free open skate session for the Canberra community to experience the work in development at The Vault.
