Take your pick from learn to skate classes, roller dance classes, themed rink sessions, and roller discos. There’s something for everyone: kids, families and adults, new skaters to advanced skate dancers.

Banging Beats and Bubbles

Welcome to Bangin' Beats and Bubbles – designed for little ones and their parents who miss a dance!  Be transported into an era-bending experience designed for little ears and parents alike! The theme is time travel and the plan is fun. You can dress up as your favourite ANYTHING from the past or future.

Get ready for out-of-this-time projections across the warehouse as our DJ’s spin kid-friendly beats from 2pm. We have… (drumroll please) Daddy Ashley Feraude till 3:30 and then Mumma ZALA to keep the tunes going until 5pm

Three hours of banging beats will be sprinkled with a balloon drop, beach balls, bubbles, interactive activities, a soft baby area, a cosy wood fire and a real – that's right old raver parents – a real bar (also slinging red cordial and skittles).

This gentle but outrageous party is ideal for ages 10 and under and their parents. There's just one safety trick: you must have a kid to get in.

Have a Question?

  • There is plenty of parking around The Vault, including disabled parking.

  • Food will be available from various outlets within the Dairy Road precinct, such as Capital Brewery, Canteen and Contentious Character. The Vault bar will be serving coffee, tea, drinks and small snacks.

  • These are located within building 3.3, adjacent to The Vault.

  • An accessible ramp is available for mobility vehicles, wheelchairs and prams to enter The Vault.

  • Music will be played at 82-25 decibels designed for children’s ears.

  • The Dairy Road offers gardens, a gallery, brewery, ramen shop, winery, Kidzplore, chocolate shop, yoga studios and more. See dairyroad.com.au for a map and list of options.

  • There will be some comfortable seating for parents and children to rest, and carpet for kids to roll on, but this is a dance party so there is not seating for everyone.

  • Please do not take photos of anyone other than your own children.

  • Tickets are going to sell out and will not be available on the door. Refunds will be available before the event, should your plans change.

  • This is a rave - expect some flashing lights and a fun disco feel.

  • You're welcome to bring toys, and some bubble wands Babies and small children will be partying with everyone. Please be mindful of choking hazards on the floor.

  • This is a family rave. All children are welcome, and adults must have a child to gain entry (to ensure everyone's safety). Everyone requires a ticket, and bubs under 1 can get a free ticket.

Space Time!
Jul

to 22 Jul

Space Time!

Now is humanity's best time to discover space. These school holidays, everyone is welcome to experience the sublime new photos from the James Webb, Euclid and other mind-bending space telescopes on an immersive sound and projection system in a deep space bunker.

See a rocket take-off, then look through pinholes in the sky to the beginning of the universe. That's right, look through time with massive images of planets, nebulae, blackholes and millions of galaxies. Some are just like our own and one, tauntingly, is in the near perfect shape of a question mark (actually).

The 30 minute audio-visual journeys loop every day, 15-22 July. The show starts 5 minutes after the time on the ticket and people are welcome to stay if they'd like to experience it multiple times. Tickets are valid for any time on the day of ticket to give flexibility, so don't worry if you're early or late.

Too Many Crews
May

to 26 May

Too Many Crews

20 minute sets. 20+ crews. A warehouse of chaos. Each DJ must mix from the last. No cuts, no buts. Closed by the great Andy Garvey (Pure Space, Canberra OG).

Witness the whole Canberra DJ community mixing up a storm. Old legends are flying back to share decks with emerging crews, an old-school MC will keep the dancers up to date on who's mixing and a cracking projection and light show will respond to every new track, every new genre, as awards are decided on who can mix the most. Reviving a party idea from 2013, when Literally Too Many DJs asked 20 DJs to mix 120 songs in two hours, this concept party has evolved into crew showcases where quick mixing is the game but anything goes.

The live music scene has often turned its nose up at our doof doof 'noise', and this is a tough time for the whole industry, so here's a little remedy: all the crews coming together to put on a warehouse party, where everyone is welcome.

Tjaabi by Big hART

Tjaabi by Big hART

Ten years in the making in the Pilbara, Tjaabi–Flood Country captures the urgencies of the 21st Century as the globe warms and the climate changes.

Patrick captures the many cultural and ecological pressures facing Aboriginal people in places like the Pilbara in the face of ever-increasing pressures for new minerals, rare earth, and more ore. He does so through breathtaking music, profoundly personal narrative, and humour that cuts to the bone.

Importantly, this work is an intercultural sharing, a collaboration between many, reflecting a hopeful future of cultural exchange and dialogue, with Patrick’s story at the centre.

This immersive theatre work, using music, spoken word, animation, and tjaabi, tells the story of growing up in the Pilbara, the lineage of cultural knowledge, the contemporary relevance of indigenous ecologies, working on country, the resource sector, and the power of Ngarluma language in capturing cultural knowledges and lived experience.
